3 killed in Bedford Co. crash

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. —

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a crash in Bedford County that claimed the lives of three people.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. Sunday on Route 4009 in East Saint Clair Township.

State police said a 1989 Jeep Cherokee was traveling south and crossed the double yellow center lines. The Jeep then struck a 2002 Hyundai Elantra that was traveling north.

The three people who were killed include the driver of the Jeep, whose name had not been released as of Monday morning.

Two people in the Hyndai were killed: Robert C. Broad, 84, of Beaverdale, who was driving, and his passenger, Ronda L. Reighard, 54, also of Beaverdale.

There were no other passengers in either of the vehicles, state police said.
