4 Dead After Van Transporting Amish To Funeral Crashes

A van transporting seven Amish people collided with a pickup truck in Butler County on Tuesday morning, killing four people.

Officials said the Amish were their way to a funeral in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County.

According to WJAC-TV's sister station in Pittsburgh, WPXI-TV, some victims were airlifted from the scene by medical helicopter and others were transported by ambulance. There were both men and women in the van.

Three people in the van were killed. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, where he later died, authorities said.

None of the victims’ names had been released as of Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Route 308 in Cherry Township around 7 a.m. near Moniteau High School.
