90-Year-old Volunteers Recognized

Johnstown —

Friday morning the Memorial Medical Center said thank you with a cake for each of them. They are 90-year-old Jim Aveni, 90-year-old Charles Lang, 93-year-old Charles Ling, and 91-year-old Margaret Werner. They volunteer in different areas from the library to business offices.

Charles Ling tells Channel 6 News, "It's more or less an information job. But it's nice. It's a fantastic job. I tell you what this has really enhanced my longevity."

Steve Tucker is the President of Memorial Medical Center. He tells Channel 6 News, "The group that is here today just add a special dimension to the experience of patients coming in. The employees love to see them. They play a real important role."
