Allegheny Region Reaches Gas Milestone

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

The price at one suburban gas station has reached $4.03 a gallon for self serve. If drivers want full service, the price went up to $4.19.

The owner of the independent gas station said he had no choice but to raise the price after the fuel truck refilled his fuel tanks Wednesday. He said he knows he's one of the first stations above the $4.00 mark, but he predicts other stations are not far behind.

He said he has had fewer customers since he raised the price, but he doesn't expect the lack of business will last for much longer.

As for drivers, they said they are not happy about the price, but they are not surprised to see it.
