Altoona Marine Killed In Afghanistan

Matthew Ingham, an Altoona native who has been serving as a Marine in Afghanistan, has been killed.

Relatives of Ingham told WJAC his parents have been breaking the news to family members Tuesday.

Altoona Area School District Spokesman Tom Bradley said Ingham graduated in 2002 and he enlisted in the Marine Corps right after graduation.

Bradley said Ingham was involved in a lot of combat in Afghanistan. He'd been to Iraq at least once before.

The Department of Defense has yet to release the details surrounding Ingham's death.

Bradley said he leaves behind a wife.
