Altoona Officials Accepting Applications For Committee Positions

If you live around Altoona and you want to see changes made in your community, you may want to volunteer.

There are 18 committees with openings.

Each one has at least one opening.

Mayor Bill Schirf said if residents want to become more involved in city politics, this will be a good opportunity.

Interested residents have until Wednesday to apply, that's when Schirf will make his appointments.

There are some technical requirements for some volunteers.

Most meet at least once a month during the day, evening or when needed.
