Altoona Parking Authority To Raise Monthly Rates

The Altoona Parking Authority will present a parking ordinance to city council members Wednesday evening.

Executive Director Pat Miller told WJACTV.com the board decided to increase rates to keep up with day to day operations.

The rates will be increase by $1. Drivers who lease a spot will pay between $36-41 in 2009.

This is the second time in five years the Authority has increased rates. Rates were increased by $1 last year. Rates remained the same between 2004 - 2007.

The ordinance will sit for 30 days before the council votes on it.
