Altoona Surgeon Sued For Leaving Sponge In Woman's Head

A Huntingdon County woman has filed a lawsuit after an 8 x 4-inch sponge was left in her head following a surgery.

According to the lawsuit filed by Ellen Detwiler, she suffered headaches, swelling, nausea and hearing problems after the surgery two years ago at Altoona Regional Hospital.

The hospital and the doctor are named in the suit.
