Another Winter Snow Storm Hits Region

Cambria County —

The Allegheny Mountains woke to a blank of snow and in some cases ice across the region. The hardest hit areas were Cambria and Somerset counties. No it's not a typo: Thundersnow. Basically, warm air from the Great Lakes and from Western Pennsylvania caused enough uplift, which is a necessary ingredient to create "Thundersnow," or a snowstorm with thunder and lightning.

That snow hit our region pretty quickly. Traveling was tricky for the morning commute with whiteouts and sloppy roads. After it's all said and done with, some parts of our area could see up to a foot of snow by Wednesday night.
