AP: Sandusky-started charity to sell 60-acre site

   HARRISBURG, Pa. --


The charity founded by Jerry Sandusky is selling a 60-plus-acre property in central Pennsylvania where it had been building an educational center.
 
   The Second Mile announced Friday that funding for its Center for Excellence had stopped after the former Penn State assistant football coach was arrested in
November and charged with with sexual abuse of boys.
 
   Construction began last year but the project was canceled in November.
 
   The State-College based nonprofit says it's still evaluating its options for the future and trying to preserve programs. It calls the sale of the property a key step in reaching that objective.
 
   The Second Mile said the programs it has scheduled for the coming months will continue, including a leadership institute in early April.
 
   The property is in Bellefonte, northeast of State College.
