Area EMA Teams Prepare For The Worst

As Hurricane Isabel continues to get to closer to the area, emergency managers across west-central Pennsylvania are getting ready for the remnants of the storm.

Things were fairly quiet this afternoon at the Cambria County 911 Center in Ebensburg, but officials there told Channel 6 News they'll be bringing more people in throughout the evening. The Emergency Operations Center was also operated last night, and tonight it will be fully active, meaning all personnel, will be on duty.

The National Weather Service, and emergency officials, report that local fire departments will have additional staffing. Cambria County's three water rescue units will also be on stand-by.

They are urging residents to pay extra attention to any warnings that may be broadcast over the next 24-36 hours.
