Area Police Chief Dies After Six Month Battle With Cancer

The Johnstown area is mourning the passing of a well-known and popular law enforcement official.

Longtime Richland Township Police Chief James Mock passed away this morning, after a six-month battle with cancer. Mock was hired as a Richland Township officer in 1965 and served as the department's chief for the last 30 years. As chief, he worked to develop the Richland Township Police Radio Network. He is survived by his wife and four children. Chief Mock was 63 years old.
