Arrest made in connection to discovery of missing Somerset man's body

By Maria Miller

SOMERSET, Pa. —

A Somerset County man dies inside this apartment building, but his body was discovered a short distance away inside his truck.

Authorities first thought Frankie Sass disappeared and they initiated a search for him.

Investigators found his body along a Somerset road and they say other people put it there.

Right off the bat the criminal complaint said Sass was a known drug user -- had even been known to go missing in the past. This time it was at least four days before he was found dead and only one day later police have already made an arrest in the case.

Michael Moore is charged in connection with Sass's death.

They're not yet sure why but police said it appears Sass died in Moore's apartment over the weekend.
That's when they say Moore and two others moved Sass's body from that apartment and placed it into his pickup truck, which was parked outside.

The criminal complaint details Moore and his girlfriend dragging Sass's lifeless, 350-pound body down the stairs, before calling a friend to help them take the body outside to the truck.

Police said those three people then drove the truck, with Sass's body inside, down the street a bit, before wiping it clean and locking the keys inside.

The truck and Sass were found around 3:00 p.m. Sunday. The cause of death has not been determined pending autopsy and toxicology tests, which police said could take several weeks.

In the meantime, Moore is facing several serious charges, including abuse of corpse and tampering with evidence. He's the only one who has been arrested but state police told 6 News Monday that they expect to make more arrests in the coming days.
