Bed bug controversy at local apartment complex

By Kerri Corrado

Johnstown, PA. —

“Cockroaches, bed bugs, fleas, they don’t pay rent,” Resident of Connor Towers Eileen Spivey said.

The tenants of the Connor Towers in Johnstown city want these unwelcomed guests out.

The entre Connor Towers complex is not infested, but residents say some units are and they want more action to be done.

“ I am tired and afraid to get into my bed.  Fear that they are going to come out of the wall, come from the ceiling, the cracks, do something already,” she said.

The Johnstown Housing Authority held an informative meeting at the Towers about pest control. Our cameras were not allowed, but we sat through the meeting.

The Housing authority said they had a few instances, but they dealt with the issues.

They say it is not a major problem and will address any bed bug issues in the future.
