BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. —

The Bedford County Historical Society is unveiling a new building to help teach the history of the county.

The structure was once a barn but has since been converted into the Pioneer Library. The historical society had spent about a year trying to buy the barn and completed the sale in June 2012.

Organizers said the building is a big attraction to the area this time of year, and it's also the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

The historical society relies solely on donations and memberships to keep operating.
