Beloved Centre County Teacher Suddenly Dies

COLLEGE TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

District officials told WJAC-TV that a physical education teacher unexpectedly died over the weekend in Centre County.

An obituary said that 39-year-old Beth Anne Donghia passed away at her home on Saturday.

State College Area School District officials said that Donghia worked at the district for 15-years, most recently as a physical education and health teacher at Mount Nittany Middle School.

Acting Principal Brian Ishler told WJAC-TV that 15 counselors were called in to assist grieving students and colleagues.

"She was just such a dynamic teacher, the kids loved her," said Ishler. "She was full of energy all of the time, always has the best interest of the students here in the building. Her main focus is always the students."

Contributions to the Beth Donghia Memorial Fund can be mailed to the State College Area School District, 131 W. Nittany Ave., State College, Pa 16801.
