Benefit concert put on by high school students will raise money for Sandy Hook victims

By Brittany Boyer

BROCKWAYA, Pa. —

A local band made up of high school students from Jefferson County will put on a show Monday to raise money for the families that lost loved ones in Newtown, Connecticut on Dec. 14.

The boys performing are students at Brockway High School.

"I figured there has to be something I could do or that what me and my friends could do that would bring people in to help support the cause. We figured it would obviously bring in more people that want to listen to good music," said lead singer and organizer, Morgan Poulos.

Admission to the concert is free. The band is just requesting that you give a donation.  There will also be tee-shirts for sale at the concert.

"It could happen anywhere. That's why we need to bring people together to understand what it truly feels like and what the cause is," he said.

The benefit concert will be held at Brockway High School on Monday, Jan. 14 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
