Better Conditions For The 2nd Day Of Deer Season

BIG RUN, Pa. —

After a very disappointing opening day of deer season, hunters noticed a big change Tuesday.

By Tuesday afternoon, all the rain had stopped and temperatures were lower than on Monday.

Hunters at the no. 2 spot on Channel Six News' Top 10 Places to Hunt, in southern Jefferson County, said hunting in that area Monday was hard.

"One guy came in here in a red pickup truck," said James Overbrook. "He got out, and said, 'Those deer can stay there,' and he left."

Overbrook added that southern Jefferson County, near Big Run, is a great place to hunt.

"Normally, I get my deer on the first day, in the first couple hours," he said.

Overbrook said he shot at one buck Monday and saw another on Tuesday but couldn't get off a shot.
