Big Brothers Watching Over State College

Two surveillance cameras are up and running in State College, and a third should be functioning this week.

The cameras were installed due to police concerns after two riots in the area. The installation process hasn't been without controversy, as many residents feel the cameras are an invasion of privacy. City leaders say they are an important tool in keeping crime down, especially on Beaver Avenue where the riots took place.
