The county's 911 center the U.S. Postal service are in the process of getting rid of some rural delivery or "RD" addresses. But, a recent letter sent to residents created a great deal of confusion for some Duncansville-area residents
The 911 center has been flooded with phone calls about the plan, prompting a press conference Friday by the county commissioners.
At the meeting, the county's consultants who are leading the project explained the details of the numbering system. Emergency officials also said the new addresses will help with their emergency response rates.
All residents affected by the change of address are advised to notify utility providers and the Department of Motor Vehicles, as well as any other companies who mail personal correspondence.
