Blair County Courthouse To Display Names Of Homicide Victims

The district attorney's office wants to make sure no homicide victim is ever forgotten.

Victim-Witness Coordinator Sarah Griep has 35 names so far.

Through her research, Griep said Blair County may be the first county in the country to have such a memorial.

The plaque will further the memorial that already sits in the courtyard in front of the courthouse.

Right now, the district attorney's office has seven pending cases.

Family of friends of victims are asked to make a $25 donation for each plaque. Griep said the money will go back into the services that are provided.

The memorial was purchased by the Blair County Law Enforcement Memorial foundation.

Griep hopes to have a dedication ceremony by September.
