Blood Drive Honors Hockey Shop Owner Battling Cancer

A blood drive was held in honor of a hockey pro-shop owner as he battles brain cancer.

When some people think of hockey in Johnstown, they think of Dave "Ziggy" Zeigler.

For years he helped neighborhood kids buy hockey equipment for a reasonable price at his store Ziggy Sports.

"What is typically a very expensive sport he made it very affordable for the kids," said Sean Mctighe.

It's that compassion that led Alli Paratore to hold a blood drive in his honor Monday.

"Every time I needed something he was always there he did everything," said Paratore.

Many people in the community are all cheering Ziggy on and hoping for the best as he undergoes treatment for cancer.
