Body of female found in Clarion Co. identified as Brookville teen

CLARION COUNTY, Pa. —

The body of a female found in Clarion County has been identified as 19-year-old Devan C. Knapp.

Knapp, of Brookville, Jefferson County, had been reported missing and has not been heard from since last Friday.

A passerby found Knapp's body around 7 a.m. Tuesday on Summerville Drive in Millcreek Township. Knapp was inside her white 2013 Toyota Scion, which she had purchased the same day she disappeared.


Members of PSP Clarion and PSP Punxsutawney responded to the scene as well as Clarion Hospital EMS.

Millcreek Township is near Fisher, which is where Pennsylvania State Police traced GPS coordinates form Knapp's cellphone.

Clarion County Coroner Terry Shaffer assisted at the scene and an autopsy will be performed at a time and day yet to be determined. Clarion County District Attorney Mark Aaron and District Attorney Jefferson County Jeff Burkett were also at the scene.

State police in Clarion said the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call PSP Clarion at 814-226-1710 or PSP Punxsutawney at 814-938-0510.
