The incident took place in rural Blandburg in the northeastern corner of Cambria County.
Police said the man and woman were spotting deer along Tower Road when they saw a campfire. They drove closer and found the body of a man lying dead in that fire.
The couple went to a nearby house to call 911. When they returned to the scene, the fire was out.
Police said they arrived at about 3 a.m. and immediately sealed off the area to begin their investigation.
