BREAKING NEWS: Johnstown Parking Garage Collapses

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

A structural engineer will be in the city of Johnstown determining what caused part of the Washington Street parking garage to collapse.

No one was in the garage at the time of the collapse, but a number of cars owned by city of Johnstown employees were parked in the garage at the time. City officials said it appears a pillar collapsed, causing the second floor deck to collapse onto the first.

The accident prompted the city to close parts of Washington, Locust and Market streets.
