Brookville dealership remains open after fire, water line break

By Brittany Boyer

BROOKVILLE, Pa. —

Fire crews were called out to a late night fire at a car dealership in Brookville, Jefferson County.

It started around 10 p.m. Sunday at the #1  Brookville Chevrolet along East Main Street.

Brookville Fire Chief, Jim Lipuma said that Sunday night was not the first time they were called to the business during the weekend.

Lipuma said that Saturday night, they were called to the same location for a water line break.

Right now officials are unsure whether the water line break has anything to do with Sunday's fire.

Ralph Gamble, owner of #1 Brookville Chevrolet said that said that the damage is devastating.

While the business is out a few thousand dollars, Gamble said that he is pleased to see how quickly firefighters handled the blaze.

"The local fire departments were very responsive, and truly professional.  They did an excellent job in saving out building," he said.

Gamble said that no cars were damaged.

Gamble said that the fire and water line break happened in the business' sales building.

Gamble estimates the damage is between $50,000-$100,000.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Brookville Chevrolet remains open for business across the street at the parts and service building.
