BROOKVILLE, Pa. —

Despite the recession and tough economic times, the company has proven that it can stay successful.

On Monday morning, the company had a ribbon cutting ceremony for its newest facility.

Company leaders told 6 News this was their second expansion project.

The new 12,000 square foot facility was construction by Allison and Associates. Company leaders said that it will compliment growth in the manufacturing of new equipment and fleet management programs.

The company restores locomotives, street cars and equipment used in underground mining.

The state-of-the-art facility includes railroad track exiting the turntable into three separate work areas. There is also a custom-made paint both that features a recirculation cure cycle. Company leaders said that this will decrease drive time and recycle 80 percent of air.

The new facility will also feature high height dual 15-ton overhead cranes, multi-gauge track, recessed work pit and a wash bay.

Currently the company is working on creating the world's most efficient locomotive. Once complete it will go to Florida.

Company leaders said they are anxious to make use of the new space.

Brookville Equipment is also hiring.

They are looking for the following positions: computer aided design and drafting operator, electrical engineers, paralegal and a certified weld inspector.
