Brookville Police Nab Suspected Serial Rapist

Jefferson County —

Wilbur Brown is behind bars in Jefferson County, not only for attempting to rob the Choice convenience store in Brookville, but also for the unsolved rapes of more than 13 victims in six counties across the state of Pennsylvania.

Brookville police broke the news that a Monday night arrest was more than meets the eye. Authorities in Dauphin County announced a 3-year-long manhunt is over. The Brookville police realized it would be wise and prudent to send out information about the suspect Wilbur Brown statewide as to what had happened in this case in the hopes that it would help another investigatory agency and that came to fruition. Police Chief Ken Dworek said the circumstances and Brown's mode of operation was too unique to be a one-time offense. He says just hours after the broadcast, he started getting calls from other departments - and believes they're not finished yet. He spoke with the Dauphin county district attorney by phone and they agreed that it would be one of the biggest crimes solved in the state of Pennsylvania. The chief says he's thrilled that a hard-working, small-town police force can make such a big impact statewide. Brown is now in Jefferson county prison in lieu of 50-thousand dollars straight cash bail.
