Business Owners Fearful Of Rising Electricity Bills

Help is coming for Blair County business owners who are concerned about rising electricity bills.

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce will host two energy-saving programs Feb. 3 at 8:30 a.m. and March 3 at 1:30 p.m.

Executive Director Joe Hurd said the session will be aimed at small business owners who've voiced concern about rising electricity bills.

He said some areas of Pennsylvania have seen an increase in electricity bills by 50 to 60 percent where the caps have already been made. He gave the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre area.

The event is open to members and non-members.

Both meetings will be held in the boardroom at the Devoriss Center in downtown Altoona unless advance registration indicates the need for a larger venue.

To register, call 814-943-8151.
