Business Prepares For Cambria County Bridge Closing

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plans to close a Cambria County bridge this summer for repairs, but nearby business owners said not only will it be an inconvenience, but it will also hurt business.

The Riverside Bridge is scheduled to be shut down from June to October and PennDOT has proposed a 17-mile detour. The owner of Stuver's Riverside Nursery said that the detour will force drivers to bypass his business and there's a better way for drivers to go.

Eric Stuver said he is planning promotions and giveaways to make sure customers know his shop is still open during the construction.
