Cambria Co. Coroner's Office holds 8th annual Yellow Ribbon Balloon Release

By Melanie Gillespie

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

The Cambria County Coroner's office did something special Sunday to remember the lives lost by suicide.

In its 8th year, the Yellow Ribbon Balloon Release comes as a day of healing for families.

The coroner, Dennis Kwiatkowski, said it's a way for families to network and connect with support.

Families had the chance to fill out balloons with a special message remembering the loved ones they lost.

"[It's a] little message to my boy... let him know I miss him," Walter Howell said.

Families affected by suicide said the group is growing, but it comes as an outlet of support.
