The event includes three bands that will perform Irish, swing and classical music. The bands will play on each floor of the library from 7-9:30 p.m. and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Organizers said the fundraiser is a different way of helping the library reach its annual operating goal of $250,000.
Lyn Meek, library director, said, "Libraries all over the country are fundraising, and this is something we decided to do about eight years ago. …The funds bring in money for needed things on our wish list."
To get ready for Friday's event, the library will close at 1 p.m. People can buy tickets online until 5 p.m. for $25. Tickets at the door will cost $5 more.
