Cambria Co. man pleads guilty to assaulting police officer

By WJAC Web Staff

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

A Cambria County man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in exchange for a reduced charge.

Wednesday’s Tribune-Democrat reports that 51-year-old Thomas Findley pleaded guilty on Tuesday to counts of simple assault and resisting arrest.

Findley was initially charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.

Northern Cambria Sgt. Isaac Hassen had to be treated for a leg injury after trying to arrest Findley in November at Finley’s home after police had responded to reports of a domestic dispute.

Findley ran off after the incident but was arrested later.

He is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
