Cambria County Touts Federal Funding, Commissioners Still Concerned Over State Budget Cuts

Cambria County commissioners touted federal stimulus dollars as a way to help the county recover from tough economic times, but said they are still concerned about what may come with this year's state budget.

The commissioners addressed county residents Thursday during a State of the County address. They discussed last year's challenges, including the state budget delay and state budget cuts, that cost the county money.

But despite it all, county leaders said they are looking to the future, not the past.

Commissioner P.J. Stevens said, "We're trying to reinvigorate the senior activities centers, (and) we are looking forward to tackling the problem of the county health rating, and that's an important project to us because that is an underlying factor in the overall economic picture also."
