Car Dealership, Owner Accused Of Illegal Operating Practices

A Jefferson County car dealership and its owners face dozens of charges and thousands of dollars in fines for alleged illegal operating practices.

State police in Punxsutawney said Hot Deals Auto Sales on Route 119 in Bell Township and its owner, Robert Ament, illegally placed liens on vehicles, repossessed vehicles and charge interest without a proper license.

The dealership and Ament each face 39 misdemeanor counts -- which can carry up to a $10,000 fine and three years in jail -- and 39 summary counts each.
