Centre Co. Man Facing Weapons Charges After Arrest At Airport

BENNER TWP., Pa. —

A Bellefonte man is facing weapons charges after police say he violated his parole by flying to the Philipines.

Wayne Homan was taken into custody by officials inside the University Park Airport terminal Dec. 14.

Police say Homan violated his parole for providing a false identity to authorities and driving with a suspended license by leaving the country to see a woman in the Philippines back in October.

After Homan was arrested, officials searched through his checked bags and discovered two knives and a set of three brass knuckles, which were purchased in the Philippines.

Under Pennsylvania law, brass knuckles are illegal to own, described as prohibited offensive weapon.

Transportation Security Administration officials in Harrisburg told WJAC-TV Thursday that although they are not allowed on carry-on luggage, brass knuckles are permitted in checked luggage.

TSA officials do not plan on pursuing additional charges.

Homan is locked up at the Centre County Correctional Facility under $30,000 straight-cash bail.
