Centre County Fire Guts House

A smoke detector is credited with saving a Centre County man's life early Friday morning The house on Hemlock Drive went up in flames just before 1:30 in the morning. Fire crews from several counties responded, but the house was gutted within minutes. A man was inside but heard the alarm and jumped out a bedroom window. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
