Centre County Municipality May Change Workweek To Save Money

One of Centre County's largest municipalities is considering a drastic step to save money.

College Township's manager, Adam Brumbaugh, proposes going to a four-day, 10-hour workweek for the township's 30 employees.

Township offices would be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Brumbaugh said not only would employees save money on fuel costs, the township also would save as much as $6,000 on heating, air conditioning and lighting.
