Centre County Native Killed In War In Afghanistan

Special Section: U.S. Wars

A Drug Enforcement Agency agent with ties to the Alleghenies was killed in Afghanistan this week, officials said.

Michael Weston, 37, was one of the people working against the opium trade when he was killed in a helicopter crash Monday, DEA officials said.

Weston was a Centre County native and graduated from State College High School in 1990. Most recently, he lived in Washington, D.C.

President Barack Obama was at Dover Air Force Base on Thursday as Weston's body came home along with 17 other Americans killed in the war zone.
