Centre County Students Hold Vigil for Connecticut

By Stef Davis

BOALSBURG, Pa

Hymns of hope sung by candlelight outside of St. Joseph Academy in Boalsburg Wednesday evening. Remembering the 26 lives lost in the tragedy in Connecticut.

Jack Rogan, St. Joseph's freshman, says, “Where are we?’ said the little girl as quiet as a mouse. The little boy said heaven--we're spending Christmas at God's house."

Candles lit and tears shed for the 20 little ones lost--and the six adults taken trying to save them. Calling for an end to the madness, the senseless violence.

Caitlin Phillips-Chapman, St. Joseph's teacher, says, “All of us are called to work for peace in our home, our streets, our world now more than ever."

Hoping for a change.

Shelly Mato, St. Joseph's principal, says, “Bring us peace, teach us to love each other, that we may reach out with love as a community and to the world."
