Centre County Workers Push For Unionization

A new effort to unionize Centre County government workers is underway. It comes in the wake of personnel moves made by the new board of county commissioners. An AFSCME union representative says he's gotten over two dozen calls within the past few days from county workers- asking for union information. Last year, a move to unionize employees at Centre Crest, the county nursing home, was voted down. But now there's increased concerns about job security, and the union says they'll probably distribute recruitment cards among the more than 700 county employees this spring.
