Changes Made To School Bus Driving Manual

PennDot says it will fix a mistake in Pennsylvania's school bus driver training manual. One that was discovered after a recent controversy in the Forest Hills School District. PennDot officials have confirmed that the state's vehicle code does supersede the training manual, which means that police vehicles in an emergency situation are permitted to pass with caution an school bus unloading students. The bus driver manual currently says no vehicle under any circumstances may pass a bus with its red lights flashing. The question arose recently when a South Fork police officer passed two Forest Hills District busses while answering a potential hostage emergency.
