Charges Dropped Against CVB Members

Johnstown —

The state liquor board called for criminal charges against the group after it was discovered several volunteer fire departments did not receive the right amount of money from the beer sales. They were supposed to get $71,000, but the CVB was accused of only giving the three fire companies a total of $15,000 from the beer profits. The employee's attorney spoke to Channel 6 News about this turn of events.

"Court has no place to handle this type of matter. It involves very good people. Those kinds of disputes are often resolved by arbitration, mediation, and settlement. I don't think this case is any different," says attorney Robert Davis Gleason.

Lisa Dailey, the executive director of the CVB issued a statement on behalf of herself, Jayne Korenski and Karen Soliday. In it, she says, "we are extremely pleased with the outcome of this situation and wish to express our sincere thanks to our board of directors, elected officials, members of the business community, industry colleagues, family members and friends who immediately offered their support to us and to our organization."
