Cheney Visit: Historic Stop In Johnstown

Before the festivities began in Altoona, the Vice President and his wife made an impromptu stop outside Johnstown for an historic visit. The Cheney bus rolled into Richland Township late Sunday afternoon. The chairman of Cambria County's Republican Party says its the first visit by a sitting president or v.p. in the Johnstown area since 1948. A crowd heard the Vice President might come by and gathered to welcome him to town. "The values of the people in this region, match the values of President Bush and Vice President Cheney," said Chairman Robert Gleason. "That's one of the reasons they came here on the 4th of July." Gleason added "to come to Richland Township is indeed a very impressive event." Gleason even predicts President Bush will carry Cambria County in November's election.
