City Councilman Dies

Johnstown —

Johnstown is mourning the loss of one of its leaders this morning. City Councilman Ron Stevens died Thursday afternoon.

Channel 6 News spoke to Johnstown Mayor Don Zucco who had this to say about Stevens. Zucco says he has known Ron from when he was Superintendent of schools and he was on the school board. Ron cared about the community, and he will be sorely missed by all.

Stevens was found dead from a heart attack on the kitchen floor after friends became concerned because of a missed appointment. Stevens had the longest tenure on council. He was there about 20 years. Council will determine who will fill Steven's seat until an election can be held. Channel 6 News will have much more on the passing of Johnstown Councilman Ron Stevens throughout the day.
