City Golf Course In Trouble

The City of Johnstown is trying to tackle a deficit at its city-owned golf course, Berkley Hills. City Manager, Jeff Silka, says the course has lost $76,000 dollars in the last six years, and unless that deficit can be made up, the city may consider selling the course--possibly to developers. As a result, Silka says the city will hike the cost of golfing permits that allow regular members unlimited play, in hopes of encouraging more casual golfers.
