City Of DuBois Faces Lawsuit

DuBOIS, PA —

The city of DuBois is facing a lawsuit from the owner of a methadone clinic once located in the city.

R.H.J. Medical Center opened its doors in 2006.

However, a Clearfield County judge ruled the clinic didn't follow the city's rules before opening and it was forced to close

The city later determined that the clinic was located too close to the DuBois Beaver Meadow Walkway.

According to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Act, a methadone clinic cannot be located within 500 feet of a park.

R.H.J. Medical Center officials have claimed those rules violate the Americans With Disabilities Act.
