CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

Dozens of people in Clearfield County let state environmental officials know where they stand on plans for a proposed landfill in their back yards.

State Department of Environmental Protection officials took public comments Tuesday night about the proposed landfill in Boggs Township that would bring garbage from New York and New Jersey into the township.

One man argued the project could threaten the local water supply, and many people objected to the increased truck traffic.

State DEP officials said they plan to take comments from Tuesday's hearing into account as they move forward with the application process.
