Clearfield County Child Hospitalized With Bacterial Meningitis

CLEARFIELD, Pa. —

A Clearfield County child has been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

The name of the child has not been released.

Clearfield Hospital officials said the child was seen in the emergency room Sunday night.

The child was later transferred to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

People in close contact with the child were notified by the PA Department of Health.

More than 60 people were tested and one child was sent to Children's Hospital with symptoms of bacterial meningitis.
