Clearfield County Ethanol Plant Opens

CLEARFIELD, Pa. —

The state's first ethanol plant has opened near Clearfield.

Officials at the Bionol ethanol plant said the facility opened on Dec. 26.

Since then, the plant has accepted truckloads of corn.

In fact, officials said many of those trucks came from local farms.

Nearly 60 people were hired to work at the plant.

Plant officials have not scheduled a grand opening ceremony.

But they said a public tour of the plant could be held in the spring.
